Dr. Adrian Treloar FRCP, MRCPsych, MRCGP

is consultant in old age psychiatry, and also a member of the National Council for Palliative Care working group on dementia. He is also working with the British Geriatric Society to produce a toolkit for palliative care of physical frail people. He considers the option of continuing to care for a person with dementia at home until the end. He offers case studies where it has been done successfully and explores the conditions which are required to make it possible. He has also published papers on ethics and delirium.


Ann Buxton

is a Registered nurse and Palliative care Lead for Greenwich Teaching PCT. As such she has wide experience of implementing the Gold Standards Framework in care homes and also a good understanding of how to get good practice into such settings.


Dr. Aparna Prasanna, MRCPsych

is a Specialist Registrar in Old age psychiatry and has researched the management of severe distress in dementia and lead a group to develop consensus on its management.


Dr. Liz Sampson, MRC Research Fellow

at Royal Free and University College Medical School. She has researched the palliative care needs of patients in acute hospitals and is also a member of the National Council of Palliative Care's Dementia Working Group.


Marjorie Dolan

is a Community Psychiatric Nurse who has developed a special clinic for the joint management of Parkinson's disease shared between neurology an mental health. She has lectured internationally on this subject.


John Keidan

is the lead for Palliative Care and Older peoples Mental Health with Greenwich Teaching Primary Care Trust. He is responsible for developing contracts for both palliative care and mental health of older people.


Dr. Sunita Sahu, MRCPsych

is a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, working with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust in south East London. She runs memory clinics and also cares for those with advanced dementia in nursing homes. She has published papers on dementia and also mental health law.


Lucy Sutton

is Palliative Care Policy Lead for the National Council for Palliative Care in London. A nurse buy training she is now leading a National committee to develop and improve palliative care of dementia.


Clive Evers

is director of information and education at the Alzheimer's Society. he has campaigned long and hard for recognition of the difficulties of dementia and also led campaigns against the prescribing of antipsyhcotics to people with dementia.


Dr. Victor Paice

is a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Palliative care at St Christopher's Hospice London. He has studied pain in Dementia and now leads a project to provide palliative care of dementia to people in Croydon. He is also editing a textbook on the subject.

is a carer who looked after his father at home till he died.

is a carer who is currently providing care for his mother in law at home.
