Aims to bring together workers from across our health care sector to discuss and explore the issues of palliative care and to set out better understanding for the future.

    Can people with dementia die well in hospital?
    How do we know when to apply palliative care to dementia?
    How can people with dementia be supported in dying at home?
    What support is needed to promote good palliative care of dementia?
    People with dementia suffer both physical pain, which is often under-treated, as well as severe mental pain which requires alleviation
    How can nursing and residential homes improve their care for people dying with dementia, and avoid sending them to the hospital to die?
    What are the key learning and developmental issues as we move to better end of life care for dementia?
    What needs to be done next?
